Gay Marriage

Okay everyone i really need feedback from you guys just because of this project I have to do. I do not want you to completely put aside your morals and values but take into consideration all the facts from various websites i am going to out on my blog. I want feedback and i might use your quotes in my project just to help prove my point. I hate my classes and I want to make these three guys i am working with be the most hated guys ever because of their reasoning for beign against gay marriage. Pros to gay marriage:

  1. Denying them is a violation of religious freedom (civil and religious marriages are two separate institutions).
  2. Marriage benefits (such as joint ownership, medical decision-making capacity) should be available to all couples.
  3. Homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle nowadays with a proven biological causation.
  4. Denying these marriages is a form of minority discrimination.
  5. It doesn't hurt society or anyone in particular.
  6. The only thing that should matter in marriage is love.
  7. The number of child adoptions should increase since gay couples cannot pro-create (although some might see an increase in gay adoptions as an argument against same-sex marriages).
  8. It encourages people to have strong family values and give up high-risk sexual lifestyle
Quotation: "We cannot accept the view that Amendment 2's prohibition on specific legal protections does no more than deprive homosexuals of special rights. To the contrary, the amendment imposes a special disability on those persons alone. Homosexuals are forbidden the safeguards that others enjoy or may seek without constraint"
-Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the majority of the U.S. Supreme Court in the decision overturning Colorado's Amendment 2 referendum
You guys no this argumant is like arguing about whether or not we should be in Iraq. There will never be a correct answer. Just think about all this before you reply and I am really looking for answers that coincide with my views to use in my project. Everyone thanks for your help. i might keep osting facts just to help once i really get going on my research.

Honestly, I have no problem with gay marriage. My parents are STRONGLY against it and sometimes are not the nicest people when discussing the issue. That's what makes me different from them, I suppose. I think that discriminating homosexuals is not different than the discrimination against races. Gay people ARE people too. It's ridiculous when states try and make it a law that homosexuals cannot get married. What happened to separating church and state? Everyone knows that the states that have outlawed gay marriage are just putting their own beliefs into the law instead of thinking of other people. I hate the way our country is run now. Our Founding Fathers did not create this country or the consitution for us to just throw all of it aside for our own personal beliefs. So, rock on gay people. I respect them. I don't understand the way some pepple say that they CHOOSE the lifestyle. How can that be so? Do straight people choose to be straight? No. We just love who we love. So what if it's the same sex? More power to them. And who gives a flying flip if the Bible says that homosexuals are going to hell. The Bible says a lot of things controversal. But that brings me back to the first point I made-what happened to separation of church and state? It frustrates me when people judge homosexuals as if they are lower class beings. It's not their fault, in my opinion. I don't really care if you are gay, straight, black, white, or purple with three thousand eyes. No one should care. It's their lifestyle and their way of life just like straight people. If my opinions have offended anyone who reads this, I apologize. Becky asked for feedback. And this is a subject I can argue for hours. If I was in a situation where I could debate this, I would in person. But anyhoo, those were my opinions. Everyone is entitled to that. So yeah. I'm done now even if I could rant for hours.
